A therapist’s musings from the chair on the mind, the world, and all we hold inside.

I’ve always loved taking notes.

Most days, I capture thoughts in my Notes app. Tiny fragments, feelings, small truths. Later, I shape them into something more whole.

I studied creative nonfiction in undergraduate studies, not to BECOME a writer (I believe we all are), but to understand the part of me that listens closely. The part that sees metaphor and meaning everywhere. Writing helps me stay near what matters.

Here, I invited you into some essays inspired by the style of Susan Sontag’s Notes on "Camp" and her way of naming complexity through fragments. You’ll find that here: some fragments, some essays, and a whole lot of heart.

Therapy, to me, in many ways is very much like how Sontag writes. Equal parts art and science. Serious in its depth, yet playful and healing in its spirit.

Speaking of Camp... to me, therapy is its own kind of camp. How so? Well, it’s emotionally extravagant, unflinchingly honest, tender to the core, and just a little outrageous in its belief that change is possible. Something about that I just… get.

Thanks for being here.
